Rockstar has solidified their dominance in the United Kingdom following a total of copies sold for Grand Theft Auto 5 in the region.
Despite the popular game being out for some time now, the sandbox title has managed to sell 6 million copies in the UK alone.
The number is unsurprising when going by the weekly UK charts, with the Rockstar developed title finding itself inside the top 10 every week. Putting that achievement into numbers, Grand Theft Auto 5 has been inside the top 10 chart for 130 weeks of its 170 week release period.
According to GamesIndustry.biz, the 6 million copies sold in the UK amount to 9.3% of the British population, an amazing feat no doubt.
Furthermore, the numbers compiled are void of digital sales and copies sold for the PC platform, with the numbers only including sales for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 versions of the game.
Rockstar is continuing to support the title’s online offering with free updates, but have yet to deliver any post-release content based on its critically acclaimed single player.
