Over the past month, Ubisoft Massive have tried to keep Tom Clancy’s The Division from drowning in a sea of glitches, bugs, and exploits. To counter-act the portion of the community exploiting the system to get ahead, the developer dished out some temporary bans and their time behind virtual bars is up.
The majority of hackers who were caught red-handed by Ubisoft were giving two-week bans in a single swoop, meaning they will all be able to return to the cover-shooter today and possibly cause more havoc.
Everyone is deserving of a second chance, but Ubisoft will start swinging the permanent banhammer on those caught exploiting the game once again, so hopefully that will deter possible repeating offenders.
Ubisoft is preparing update 1.2 for the post-apocalyptic title which is rumored to release later this month. No details on future security measure to combat hackers was clarified, leaving the game still vulnerable outside the measures implemented to stop players exploiting the Falcon Lost Incursion.
This is quite the opposite to Blizzard’s approach to cheaters in Overwatch recently, promising to permanently ban anyone caught abusing the system.
Don’t be surprised if you find yourself getting one shotted by a rogue agent inside the Dark Zone tonight, you can find the culprit inside a wall laughing at you down the mic.
